Partner Forum “Portrait of An American Traveler” – November 2016

The Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau hosted tourism colleagues on November 16, 2016 at The Collider for a special presentation of the MMGY Global Portrait of American Travelers presented by Steve Cohen, popular keynote speaker at national conferences. Mr. Cohen provided an overview of the emerging travel habits, preferences and intentions of Americans, with a specific focus on how they apply to leisure travelers interested in visiting the Asheville area.

Steve Cohen Bio: As the Vice President, Research & Insights at MMGY Global, Steve Cohen leads MMGY’s customer insights and industry research group, including overseeing the development of proprietary surveys, including the Portrait of American Travelers®. He has managed comprehensive marketing research programs for Visit Tucson, The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, This is Cleveland, Orbitz, CheapCaribbean.com, the South Dakota Department of Tourism, The American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA), the Connecticut Office of Tourism, the Nassau/ Paradise Island Promotion Board, and the Jordan Tourism Board, North America. He is regularly interviewed on travel trends by both consumer and trade press, including The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report, The Los Angeles Times, Time, CNN, Fox News and Travel Weekly. Prior to joining MMGY Global, Steve led research efforts for the AAA National Office, Marriott Vacations Worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton Club and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts.
