Overview: Vice President, Destination Development & Community Engagement

This is a newly created role for Explore Asheville Convention & Visitors Bureau (Explore Asheville). The Vice President, Destination Development & Community Engagement is accountable and responsible for the strategic planning, direction, design, and implementation of all areas of the department including destination development and grant programs, community engagement, and partnership development.

This position will leverage resources, community outreach and relationship-building to develop, manage and contribute to projects and experiences that align with or expand the destination and help enhance its distinct sense of place. Additionally, this role will focus on the quality of experience for visitors and quality of life for residents, contributing to the growth of a sustainable tourism economy.

The VP of Destination Development & Community Engagement will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, providing support to the CEO by assisting in strategic planning and administration of organization policy, implementing the organization’s vision, mission, strategic imperatives, and key objectives.
